Stop Funding the $17 Million Dollar Gun Range!
Examining the improvement projects listed on the agenda I see there is nearly $1.3 Million Dollars allocated to developing a $17 Million Dollar police gun range. Having followed this item when it was on the city council agenda last year I am surprised we are still spending money on it.

Allegedly most of the cost was to be covered with Federal grant funds with the city having to fork out about $3 to $5 Million. The current trend of cost cutting from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) should demonstrate to everyone it’s unlikely any funds will EVER be available.

The $1.3 Million dollars being spent in this proposed city budget to submit a grant that will never be fulfilled seems a colossal waste of time and money. Based on what is being reported in the community this is merely a project pushed by a council member from the third council district so she can get the Police Union endorsement and for them to pay for her mailers when she runs for mayor.

This is particularly offensive to residents after this same council person increased parking meter fees, eliminated free meter parking during the holidays in Riviera Village, and raised virtually all other city fees.

I urge city leaders to stop this funding fiasco and instead use the funds where it will benefit residents and not raise fees again.

I support passing and funding a budget for a safety and sound wall on the North Prospect Ave. median between 619 to 515 N Prospect Ave. We were robbed of our privacy last year without any notice, and the traffic and noise are out of control on this street. The past year has been a nightmare on this street. We are beyond tired here, this has been a cause of much stress and anxiety. The City of Redondo Beach has neglected maintenance, safety, and noise issues here for decades. Please give us back our privacy, safety, and quality of life. Pass and fund a budget for the North Prospect Ave. median safety and sound wall. Thank You! I support SCAQMD's proposed amendments to rules 1111 and 1121.

New construction should be all electric. It makes no financial sense to build with dual-fuel . https://www.law.berkeley.edu/research/clee/research/climate/projectclimate/projects/los-angeles-fire-recovery/ The schedule for replacement furnaces and hot water heaters for existing homes is also reasonable. This does not mean that people have to change their appliances and panels by 2027 or 2029. If you like your gas appliance and it is still working, then you can keep it. However, if your appliance breaks and you are looking for new replacements, you will find that the new heat pumps on the market are so much better than old gas ones. Our HVAC installer says that everyone is opting for heat pumps instead of gas furnaces because they are just betterperforming.

We don't need to weigh in on SCAQMD rule-making.

But, if we do decide to send a letter, I urge the city to write in support.

It's good for smog reduction, indoor air quality, GHG emissions reduction, and the health of our community.

Please Support.

I support 1111 and 1121 with the following modifications. New residences should be required to have all-electric appliances to preserve personal and environmental heath. Homeowners of existing residences who wish to convert, should be encouraged to do so, and they should be financially aided according to their needs. Air pollution control is a community concern, and people need to be stepping up, not fighting every attempt to do something about climate change and environmental pollution.
