A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING A PUBLIC
WORKS CONTRACT TO SEQUEL CONTRACTORS, INC., A
CALIFORNIA CORPORATION, IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,151,000
FOR THE KINGSDALE AVENUE RESURFACING (BETWEEN
GRANT AVENUE AND 182ND STREET) PROJECT, JOB NO.
40880
WHEREAS, Kingsdale Avenue, between Grant Avenue and 182nd Street, within the City of Redondo Beach (“City”), is in need of street resurfacing work; and WHEREAS, on March 11, 2025, the City Council of the City of Redondo Beach approved the Plans and Specifications for the Kingsdale Avenue Resurfacing (Between Grant Avenue and 182nd Street), Job No. 40880 (the “Project”), and authorized the City Clerk to advertise for competitive bids; and
WHEREAS, on April 24, 2025, bids for this Project were received and publicly opened at the City Clerk’s Office; and
WHEREAS, Sequel Contractors, Inc., a California corporation (“Sequel Contractors, Inc.”), is the lowest responsible bidder for this Project, as more particularly described in the Plans and Specifications thereof, and incorporated herein by reference, and is awarded the contract for this Project in the amount of $1,151,000; and
WHEREAS, Sequel Contractors, Inc. shall provide all applicable insurance certificates and bonds to the City for approval prior to the execution of the contract; and WHEREAS, sufficient Capital Project Funds have been appropriated for this Project in the adopted Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Capital Improvement Program Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Redondo Beach, California, awards the contract for the Kingsdale Avenue Resurfacing (Between Grant Avenue and 182nd Street), Job No. 40880, to Sequel Contractors, Inc., in the amount of $1,151,000 on the condition that all applicable insurance certificates and bonds shall be provided to the City for approval prior to the Mayor executing the contract on behalf of the City.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
