THIRD AMENDMENT TO THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BY AND
BETWEEN THE REDONDO BEACH UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH REGARDING THE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER PROGRAM This Third Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding by and between the Redondo Beach Unified School District and the City of Redondo Beach regarding the School Resource Officer Program ("Third Amendment") is made between the City of Redondo Beach, a chartered municipal corporation ("City") and the Redondo Beach Unified School District ("District").
WHEREAS, on September 3, 2019, the parties entered into a Memorandum of Understanding regarding the School Resource Officer Program (the "MOU"); WHEREAS, on June 15, 2021, the parties entered into the First Amendment to the MOU;
WHEREAS, on June 6, 2023, the parties entered into the Second Amendment to the MOU; and
WHEREAS the parties desire to amend the MOU.
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the promises and mutual covenants contained herein, and intending to be legally bound, the parties hereby agree to make the following amendments to the MOU:
1. Term of MOU: Section 1 of the MOU is amended to extend the expiration date from June 30, 2025 to June 30, 2027.
2. Compensation: Section 7 of the MOU is amended to provide the following:
The District agrees to pay $100,000 annually to the City for one (1) additional School Resource Officer (SRO), as defined in Section 3 of the MOU. The District shall make quarterly payments of $25,000 each, due within thirty days of the last day of each respective quarter: September 3O, December 31°, March 31°, and June 30h. In no event shall the total amount paid by the District exceed $800,000 under the MOU and any of its amendments.
3. No Other Amendments. The MOU, First Amendment, Second Amendment, and this Third Amendment constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede any previous oral or written agreement with respect to the subject matter hereof. In the event of any inconsistency between the terms of the MOU, First Amendment, Second Amendment, and this Third Amendment, the terms of this Third Amendment shall govern.
