A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING A FISCAL
YEAR 2025-2026 BUDGET MODIFICATION TO
ALLOCATE $1,466,279 FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF
HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR THE
REPLACEMENT OF DOCK INFRASTRUCTURE IN BASIN 3
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of Redondo Beach (“City Council”) to review the adopted budget from time to time;
WHEREAS, the City of Redondo Beach’s adopted budget needs to be modified to allocate monies from outside sources to fund necessary expenditures; and WHEREAS, on October 7, 2025, the City of Redondo Beach (“City”) adopted a resolution to accept a grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development; and WHEREAS, pursuant to this grant agreement, the Department of Housing and Urban Development will grant $1,466,279 to the City to replace the deteriorate infrastructure of the docks in Basin 3 of King Harbor; and
WHEREAS, since the adoption of the budget, additional, previously unbudgeted revenue has been identified, which must be allocated to fund the necessary improvements; and WHEREAS, the revenue to be received from the Department of Housing & Urban Development is not included in the adopted Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Budget, and a budget modification is necessary to allocate these funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The amounts allocated in the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Budget need to be modified to recognize additional revenue received during the budget year; and, upon recommendation of the City Manager, the budget as adopted for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 is modified as follows:
One million four hundred sixty-six thousand two hundred and seventy nine dollars ($1,466,279) shall be allocated to the budget.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to Section 11(f) of the City Charter, the City Clerk is hereby directed to correct the budget records of said City for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 in accordance with the above modification.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
