Design revisions &
description
• Revisions:
o N Gertruda Ave: the detail was readded to the seagull; signage/address added
o N Catalina Ave: The larger reef was put
back; signage/address added
o Overall: the design was lightly reworked
to be more in Ernesto’s style to
represent who the final mural will look
in real life
• Description:
o It starts with California sea lions on the
rocks, above water →
o A seagull and humpback whale guide
the viewer into the water →
o Another sea lion and a school of fish
draw the eye under water →
o And lastly, viewers are left completely
submerged in the water with a whale
shark.
• Notes:
o Tweaks may be added in real life to
ensure the design fills the space and
looks good from all vantage points.
Color palette
Calming, organic tones will speak to the area’s natural surroundings, while vibrant colors will add warmth and interest. A mixture of transparent and opaque colors will bring movement to the piece.
