Subject: PUBLIC COMMENT - BCHD CANNOT BE ALLOWED 5 MORE GENERATIONS OF DAMAGE TO SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOODS - Re: Give a Gift That Lasts for Generations

Public Comment
For generations, the surrounding neighborhoods have endured noise, traffic, pollution, chronic stress (the Blue Zones "silent killer") and property value decline from the failed hospital project. In 1984 after only 24 years of operation, the public owned and operated hospital closed due to impending financial failure and leased the hospital building and operations to a private hospital company. The private hospital operation closed in 1998 for good, leaving voters without the hospital they authorized and paid for. Our community's vote for a public emergency hospital failed.

BCHD cannot be allowed to create another 5 GENERATIONS of damages to the surrounding neighborhoods.

Your Holiday Gift Creates LongTerm Impact
As we celebrate the season of giving, we invite you to consider a different kind of gift — one that grows, strengthens and supports our community long after the holidays.

Your donation to the Beach Cities Health Foundation fuels longterm wellness for every generation. Two essential community resources are relying on your support this season:
allcove Beach Cities: A Safe,
Welcoming Space for Young People
allcove Beach Cities provides young people ages
12–25 with mental and physical health services, peer
support, substance use prevention, education and,
employment resources, and wellness programs
— all at no cost.

When you give, you ensure young people have
a place designed just for them: welcoming,
stigma-free and full of support.

Center for Health & Fitness (CHF): New
Space. New Equipment.

CHF is one of only two Certified Medical Fitness
Facilities in California, and it’s moving into a
new, modern home at 510 N. Prospect Avenue.

Your support helps us raise $1 million to equip the
center with NEW cardio, strength and wellness
equipment and technology. This investment brings
better equipment to our members, so they can continue their health and wellness journey.

Become a Founding Member with your gift this holiday season — and help shape the next chapter of community wellness.

Any amount helps!
Your holiday gift becomes a legacy.

Whether you support young people, older adults or whole-person wellness for every generation, your generosity strengthens the health of the Beach Cities today and long into the future.

Thank you for investing in a healthier tomorrow.
