CAUTION: Email is from an external source; Stop, Look, and Think before opening attachments or links.
Without public notice or review, the City changed the EXISTING FAR computation for BCHD by changing the square footage of the buildings. The CERTIFIED EIR OF RECORD from BCHD shows the surface buildings at 312,000 sf, not the 251,000 sf shown in the City's never before seen FAR computation.
If the City believes that the CERTIFIED EIR is incorrect, the City as a CEQA agency is obligated to assure the EIR is amended. Otherwise, the City is obligated to reject the EIR as defective, not withstanding BCHD' s certification. State law forbids the certification of a known false EIR.
Concurrently, we are filing a PRR for all documents used to modify the existing FAR calculation. I am on the public record from meeting noting the discrepancy as well. Planning had no explanation, however the meeting itself was full of less than hardened analysis and discussions.

Subject: Public Comment: Redondo Beach City Council Allows BCHD to Exceed Size of Proposed CenterCal " Mall by the Sea" Private MegaComplex
Date: Wednesday, January 21, 2026 11: 26: 34 AM
CAUTION: Email is from an external source; Stop, Look, and Think before opening attachments or links.
At the January 20, 2026 Redondo Beach City Council meeting, the City agreed to allow a private developer to increase the size of the current buildings on the former South Bay Hospital parcel by 215%. This extreme expansion of private use and private development on the site will exceed the proposed 523,000 sf CenterCal " Mall by the Sea" project that was rejected by voters.
BCHD claims that it is exempt from the City's Measure DD, a law established to require a public vote to allow conversion of property from one use to another. In this case, BCHD is privatizing half of the Public- owned site with a long term lease to a private developer and allowing the developer to construct for non-resident services on the Public zoned land condemned for the public hospital.
The vote to allow expansion of private development on the site was 5-0 with Councilmember Obagi provided a pro-BCHD leaning closing statement prior to the vote. Obagi acknowledged meetings with BCHD CEO Bakaly prior to the Council meeting and approval of BCHDs requested expansion. Bakaly had previously threatened legal action against the City using the same law firm as the current AES site owner and developer in what can be described as a show of pro-developer solidarity between the government agency and private real estate developer.
Current analysis shows real estate values within one- half mile of BCHD are suppressed by nearly $ 200M with the existing structures. It is unknown how much further damage to surrounding resident property will occur with the expansion of private development on the site.
From the City's Presentation:
Current Size of Buildings on South Bay Hospital site: 251,900 sf Allowable Increase by Private Developer Mar Ventures: 541,045 sf From the Daily Breeze:
CenterCal mall proposal: 523,000 sf

We congratulate our fellow residents for gaining the City's support to oppose the Metro Green Line Right-of-Way route through Redondo Beach neighborhoods. StopBCHD and our supporters have written numerous letters to Metro and also filed expert witness support on the environmental analysis to support our neighbors. We are truly thankful to have been able to play our small role to protect them at a time when it was very unclear if the Council or County Supervisors would provide any support.
The City Council' s vote to support land privatization at BCHD on Tuesday night ( 1/20/26) will deprive the roughly 6,000 residential homes surrounding BCHD within one-mile from the same support the Council provided on the Metro issue. We have notified the Council repeatedly of the health, safety, neighborhood character, and property value impacts of BCHD' s commercial development on surrounding Redondo Beach and Torrance residents.
Yet, the Council authorized an expansion of the buildings on the former South Bay Hospital site to be LARGER than the voter-rejected CenterCal Mall by the Sea. The Council is playing favorites. It's choosing the destruction of surrounding neighborhoods to please the $250,000 per month payroll of BCHD executives who threatened to sue the City.
Sad.

Not good enough for us Paige. BCHD is an important topic for 500-600 N Prospect Ave.
Residents and you are supposed to be representing us and protecting us. You should have made sure that we knew about this meeting even if that took knocking on a few doors or just letting me know so I could talk to the neighbors. You didn't do that.
And you still haven' t explained why you have become absent over many months, basically ghosted us when you know all the problems we have up here. Much of it is BCHD connected.
If you did your job as our Representative, you would never hear from me or any of us. We gave you a chance and you have let us down.
So who's side are you on? The Residents and your constituents up here at 500-600 N Prospect Ave and Beryl Heights, or BCHD? Again, the optics aren't good.

City Clerk, please add this email to public comment.
Paige,
In last night' s City Council meeting, we discovered that you are having a joint neighborhood meeting with District 4 Council Member Zein Obagi this Saturday 1/24/26 at 9am RB North Library. Also included in your meeting is a special guest. The CEO of Beach Cities Health District Tom Bakaly. Obagi, the City Council Member with zero credibility due to his alleged corruption and legal problems, and the Council Member that walks out of the chamber when he doesn' t want to hear from certain Residents like me or John Perchulyn, exposed this to us last night. And it was made very clear last night that the entire lot of you don't care what Residents want. The showing of disdain towards us was very clear. And Obagi grandstanding like he was a Trial Judge up at the dais and admonishing the will of Residents was way out of line. For someone who can't currently practice law it was a showing of pure arrogance, self importance, and self service. Obagi shouldn' t even be allowed to sit on the City Council.
Supposedly you represent all of the District 3 Residents Paige, not just your North Redondo constituents. So why wasn't this neighborhood meeting publicly posted by you and broadcast through your email list? Or was it broadcast by email as you normally do and certain people didn't get it because you don't want us there? Why didn't Mr. Bakaly and BCHD staff reach out to us as the most deeply impacted Residents directly in their line of fire?
We have a lot of problems with Mr. Bakaly and BCHD who have been terrible neighbors for years and are trying to subvert the will of Redondo Beach Residents using the Redondo Beach City Government as its tool. Our street is deeply impacted by traffic, noise, accidents, and more recently a 20 emergency unit nightmare due to a false alarm. Absolute public safety and noise nuisances that BCHD helps to create daily and nightly. You are aware of all of this and you are not doing your job in protecting us. Why is that Paige? What is your real agenda? Please tell us.
The optics of this is very bad Paige. You appear to be beholden to Tom Bakaly and what he wants for BCHD which is a massive overdevelopment project for corporate profit right in the faces of the 500-600 N Prospect Ave. Residents and the Beryl Heights community. You have been absent, non-responsive to us and our concerns and the daily and nightly impact and problems that we have with BCHD. In fact this entire City Government has shown that you don't have our backs. You and pretty much this entire current City Government seem to have your own agendas, it's certainly not for the good of the Residents here. The N Prospect Ave median is a complete mess as well. You have walked away from it, left us with weeds, sticks, exposed irrigation pipes, out of control traffic and noise. This reflects on you and you should be embarrassed.
So what's your deal Paige? Where is your allegiance and who is to? We need answers from you immediately. If I'm wrong, please explain how I'm wrong. Your constituents here at 500-600 N Prospect Ave and Beryl Heights deserve answers and better treatment from you and this entire City Government than this.

Subject: Increased FAR for BCHD commercial development
Date: Tuesday, January 20, 2026 5:58:41 PM
CAUTION: Email is from an external source; Stop, Look, and Think before opening attachments or links.
Dear City Council, Mayor and Staff;
I oppose any increase in FAR for BCHD's proposed project which is a commercial, for profit residential elder care facility built on the public's
hospital campus land. BCHD is the lobbying influencer for the commercial developer. It is not the user of the facility. BCHD will only receive lease
payments from the developer. BCHD is saying that an increased FAR of 1.25 or more is necessary for this project although no actual building
plans have been made. This particular project is still in the conceptual stage BCHD has been planning these types of developments for over ten years, spending millions of dollars in the process.
There have been much public outcry against most of these plans, primarily over the massive size and scope of the buildings,
The City's FAR is more in line and acceptable with what the residents want. By now one would think that BCHD would seek
a development that actually follows what the public would approve of. Instead, BCHD wants you to believe this project requires a greater FAR.
But keep in mind that BCHD is really here acting as lobbyist for the developer and that it has shown little if any regard to what residents want.
Please maintain the City's FAR limits for this project. BCHD should go back to the developers and have them redesign the build to fit
the FAR and fit the surrounding neighborhood. This certainly is not an impossible task and if BCHD were concerned about the area residents
and City Planning it should come up with a satisfactory development solution.
Sincerely,
Geoff Gilbert

Following review of the actual comments, 4 of comments were confused and wrote comments that clearly SUPPORTED N1, but chose OPPOSE
So that flipped the count to 19 SUPPORT, 15 OPPOSE and one that did NOT select a box wrote a comment that is clearly a SUPPORT
So in the end at 4PM we're at 20 SUPPORT, 15 OPPOSE
Whatever City Clerk provides in the end, needs to have 5 ADDED To SUPPORT and 4 REMOVED FROM OPPOSE
In the future, I believe we should spend more time making the " vote" clear with CONTEXT to avoid people choosing the wrong option.

Honorable Mayor and City Council Members,
I am writing to support the Planning Commission’ s and GPAC’ s recommendation for a 0.5 to 0.75 Floor Area Ratio (FAR) for Public Institutional ( PI) land, and to express my opposition to the 1.25 FAR requested by the Beach Cities Health District ( BCHD) for their site, and for all PI land.
A transition to a 1.25 FAR for public land would represent a radical departure from the city’s established architectural standards and the fundamental spirit of balanced planning that makes Redondo Beach special, and desirable for residents, families, and visitors alike. Given that the current average FAR for PI land stands at 0.26, the proposed
0.50 FAR limit already offers a generous 100% increase in density for most properties.
In contrast, BCHD’ s request for 1.25 is nearly double the intensity of their existing footprint and exceeds the density permitted even in our densest Commercial and Industrial zones.
Please consider the following points regarding the stewardship of our public space:
BCHD offers programs that are supplemental or optional to Redondo Beach residents, with taxes and a base that is made up of three beach cities. Its role is distinct and opposite from the critical, essential infrastructure, public safety and emergency services provided by the City. High-density allowances are reserved for essential public safety hubs; providing BCHD an excessively large FAR is not justified.
The requested density is fundamentally incompatible with the surrounding neighborhood. Approving such a scale risks setting a concerning precedent for the privatization of public land through over- development.
The failure of BCHD’ s $30M Measure BC, amidst much higher cost, successful measures, illustrated what the public values, and are willing to pay for.
Residents have consistently voiced their preference for a scale of development that respects compatibility with surrounding areas.
I urge the Council to uphold the recommendations of both the Planning Commission and the GPAC by rejecting the 1.25 FAR. I ask that you prioritize the enduring character of our community and the clear consensus of the residents.
Thank you,
Respectfully,
Ann Wolfson

To all Health District Mayors, City Councils, and Planning Commissions Public Comment: If only the RB Council cared about the residents and owners of the $11.3B in residential property within 1-mile of BCHD. It's in Redondo, Hermosa and Torrance. We're currently refreshing the damages to property values from being close to BCHD. Last estimate in 2022 was over $ 150M in value reduction within 1/2-mile based upon advanced statistical modeling. We have licensed updated data to model the current value damages.
At the RBCC meeting on Tuesday the 19th, the City more than doubled the current BCHD FAR from 0.58 (City Planning' s calc) to 1.25. That will create additional traffic, noise, pollution, stress, and related cases of cancer, hypertension, pulmonary damage and cardiovascular disease according to National Institute of Health peer reviewed studies. And now, with a 1.25 FAR, property values will sink further as well.
StopBCHD has been filing comments with Metro regarding the now cancelled Right- ofWay project since 2022. We congratulate those neighbors for reducing the damages of Metro and thank Supervisor Mitchell. Too bad the Redondo Beach Council chose not to protect BCHD area residents from the significant damages of the private development on OUR public property at BCHD for the coffers of private developers and non-residents who can afford $15,000 per month assisted living.

At the November 2025 BCHD Board meeting, BCHD Board- approved Committee member Mary Drummer falsely claimed that BCHD was reimbursed the full amount of $2.3M of COVID expenditures that constituted the 44% of BCHD COVID service expenditures that CEO Bakaly' s January 2023 Board Report called non-reimbursed. Mr. Bakaly' s November CEO report reiterated that the costs were not recovered as reimbursement.
At the conclusion of BCHD Committee member Drummer' s statement, CEO Bakaly ignored the false statement by Drummer, thereby implying it was truthful. It was not. Further, CEO Bakaly has a penchant for declaring public comments to be " LIES" when he is not even in command of his own data supplied to the Board. In any event, CEO Bakaly was 100% aware that BCHD Committee member Drummer made a false statement and CEO Bakaly did not correct it.
1) CEO Bakaly allowed known false statement to be made to the public by BCHD Board Committee member Drummer;
2) CEO Balaky demonstrated bias against other members of the public by referring to their truthful comment as " LIES" ( verbatim from the CEO) while actively choosing to ignore the false statement of Board- approved Committee member Drummer.
Both 1 and 2 above are ethical violations by CEO Bakaly and file this formal complaint for an ethics review of his conduct at the November 2025 Board meeting with Committee member Drummer' s false public comment. Unless CEO Bakaly and demonstrate $ 2.3M approximately) of reimbursements, then Committee member Drummer' s statement was knowingly false.

I see from the current agenda packet that BCHD is ignoring these documented complaints of ethics violations within their organization. BCHD even failed to acknowledge the complaints submitted in November via BCHD outside counsel who acts as their general counsel.
BCHD chooses to ignore its own ethics issues, especially at the Board and Committee Member levels.

BCHD failed to acknowledge the written complaints filed regarding:
1) Board Member Koo's company getting referrals from BCHD and ALLCOVE. It seems well documented in AI/searches.
2) Board Member Poster' s false statement under oath at the RB Council after being certain to identify herself as a sitting Board member of BCHD. Her statement regarding the actions she imagines the City Attorney took were so ludicrous to be deliberate false information to the Council.
3) A Committee Member' s false statement that BCHD received the final $2.3M in reimbursements. They did not. The Board and CEO knew they did not, but never commented. This was clear malice against the public by the Board and CEO, and a deliberate false statement by Drummer, since nowhere in the record is the $2.3M reimbursed.
4) The same Committee Member repeatedly ( half day offsite and November BOD) claiming that the work of Stop BCHD is as a satellite of the US federal DOGE. Clearly, that is yet false assertion.
My folks have completed downloads of the audio records, AI transcribed, and are prepared to provide full evidence for #2, #3, and #4 from BCHD' s own record. # 1 is a workproduct from public information that the Company that Koo is CMO of is a referral provide given out by BCHD.
We really need the Board and its Counsel to determine how ethics violations by the Board are handled. They likely will not discipline themselves. LAFCO? LA District Attorney? Private Litigation?
One final issue. BCHD has made false claims that it provides an ROI on property taxes for years. Any first year finance book rejects the claim that that ROI can occur using unrelated funds on the initial investment. The only potential ROI on the property taxes might be from passive investment of the lumpsum. Further - BCHD computes the alleged ROI incorrectly as well. They include the initial investment in the " rate" computation. That would make your 3% money market " BCHD ROI" 103% which is total nonsense. An MBA/CFO/ CEO/ CPA should know better. So should a financial auditor. Again, an intro level Finance error. In theory, the buck stops with the CEO or CFO, either of which should have corrected the formula and math. This casts doubt on all financial processes at BCHD.
The CFO. The BCHD Auditors who ignored it in financial reports. It's quite material that the BCHD claim is wrongly computed and highly inflated.
How would StopBCHD file a malfeasance claim and also a challenge to the audit? If the auditors missed the computation of ROI, how closely did - or didn' t - they audit BCHD? It's a sad state of affairs.

The following ethics complaint against the Board of BCHD has not been responded to by BCHD. We have added BCHD' s outside law firm that acts as general counsel to distribution.
The complaint notes:
1) CEO Bakaly stated that a public comment was a " lie" and stated that " I don't know where those numbers are coming from" when the numbers were from his own CEO report and were cited as such. Bakaly sought to use false statements to distance his own numbers from BCHD. 2) BCHD Board Approved Committee Member Drummer stated that BCHD fully recovered the $2.3M in costs that are clearly stated as non-reimbursed in the same CEO report. That is clearly false and BCHD acknowledges its falseness in a CPRA response. As a BCHD BoardApproved Committee member, she is subject to BCHD ethics policies and the Brown Act 3) Despite the fact that the entire Board and CEO knew that recovery was not made, they refused to speak up with the intent of protecting their own Committee Member from her own false statement. This conspiracy to leave protect their own Committee member and leave information they knew to be false in the record was also an ethics violation.
Yet, neither the Board nor Bakaly nor Drummer has been identified by BCHD for investigation of this well documented set of events.
This will be a topic at the January Board Meeting.

BCHD BOARD AND THE CEO
In the October and November BCHD Board meetings, both the CEO and the Board ( as well as possibly the outside counsel) made false claims regarding COVID reimbursements - or - they refused to intervene when a BCHD Committee Member ( Board selected and approved) made a false statement.
As such, through the CEO and Committee member' s knowingly false statements and the Board' s support of the false statements through silence, the BCHD Board and CEO acted unethically in an attempt to cover for a BCHD Committee Member' s false claim and the CEOs lack of knowledge of his own CEO Reports to the Board.
Action must be taken. LA LAFCO and the LA District Attorney are copied. Further, it's likely the State Bar will be engaged since the outside counsel provided preferential treatment to BCHD committee members during public comment time.

CEO Bakaly' s Report to the Board ( Jan 2023)
total District COVID- 19 emergency response expenditures are $ 5,209,000 with estimated total reimbursement of 56% or $2,900,000..."
easy 3rd grade math, BCHD Covid- 19 Expenditures=$ 5.2M, BCHD Covid- 19 Reimbursements=$ 2.9M, therefore Resident- Taxpayer Cost=$ 2.3M) Public Statement at October BCHD Board Meeting
Beach Cities lost $2.3 million on COVID. That means Beach Cities spent $ 2.3 million more than it recovered."
See the easy math above, CEO Bakaly' s report states " expenditures are $ 5,209,000 with estimated TOTAL REIMBURSEMENT of 56%, or $2,900,000." That means BCHD had to charge resident- taxpayers $ 2.3M for BCHD to service 80% non-residents, on average, for non-reimbursed COVID vaccinations and testing services.
CEO Bakaly' s Outrageous Misinformation Statement During the October 2025 Board Meeting and Unethical Declaration that the Public Comment Citing the CEO Report NUMBERS was a LIE.
So, first of all, with COVID, um the the comment you just heard was just a lie. We we were reimbursed by FEMA and the federal government for our COVID expenses. So, I don' t know, uh where those numbers are coming from. They' re certainly not facts. and we're happy to uh discuss that and show audits that show that our expenses related to COVID were reimbursed by the federal government."
CEO Bakaly' s CEO Report Statement that Only 56% of COVID Costs ($ 2.9M) Were Reimbursed was CONTRADICTED by BCHD Board Appointed and Approved BCHD Committee Member Drummer in the November 2025 BCHD Board Meeting I will not let their disinformation campaign go unchallenged. BCHD did not cause taxpayers to quote eat $2.3 million. They were eventually fully reimbursed." Using the word that the CEO popularized, BCHD Committee Member Drummer' s statement that the entire $ 2.3M was recovered is a " Bakaly" " Lie". None of the $2.3M shortfall, the 44% of the total COVID expenditures was " eventually fully reimbursed." It is VERY DISTURBING that a BCHD Committee Member would lie to the public. It is even more disturbing that 5 sitting BCHD Board members and the CEO would all allow a blatant LIE to be made on behalf of BCHD by a Committee Member with apparent authority and make NO ATTEMPT to correct her " LIE". None of the $2.3M was even eligible for reimbursement, so quite clearly, this is a case of UNETHICAL ACTION by the BCHD Board and CEO. They had an OBLIGATION to correct their Committee Member' s clearly false claim on behalf of BCHD as a Committee member.
SIMPLE FACTS
CEO Bakaly' s own report stated VERBATIM that only 56% of COVID response expenses were reimbursed. ( CEO Report, January 2023, Page 18/40) CEO Bakaly' s claim that he doesn' t know where the numbers come from makes him both uninformed of his own reports to the BCHD Board and a lousy witness if that would ever be required of him.
As seen by the transcript and the CEO' s stutters ( literal doublespeak), it's more than likely that he was fully aware that the data and statement were true.
The Board and CEO were completely aware that Committee Member Drummer' s statement in November 2025 was false, and neither the CEO, the Board, nor outside Counsel attempted to challenge the statement. They all SUPPORTED THE LIE with their silence.

City Clerk, please add this entire email thread to public comment.
In 38 years of living in this City I have never wanted or had to get involved in City politics until October 2024. I have never been forced to fight a City Council or a "Mayor" to keep their word to Residents just do what is right. Or to have to fight for my right as a 32 year tax paying Redondo Beach property owner, as well as for my neighbors and our legal right to live in safe, peaceful & quiet enjoyment of our homes. So now because I continue to challenge and fight you, and certain truths about you hurt, which were your own doing, you want to make me the bad guy. This is ridiculous and unacceptable to me. You and this current Redondo Beach City Government are a complete disgrace.
For someone who supposedly has "thick skin" it seems like it's been penetrated and I've struck a nerve. You get back the respect that you give Zein and you show absolute disrespect to Redondo Beach Residents which includes me and your constituents. Tuesday night's City Council meeting was absolutely disorderly and completely ludicrous. Your little stage show and pontification of what you want, not what we the Residents want at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting was absolutely disgusting. The demanding and self righteous tone of it exposed you as unwilling and incapable of listening and doing what is right for Residents and your constituents. You live in North Redondo and you don’t have to deal with what we put up with from BCHD here. So you don’t care, it’s all about you and what you want. And whatever else you gain for being a yes man for Tom Bakaly.
I haven't said anything disparaging about you. I've just stated the truth and it's all public information about you. You have to live with your bad decisions, your dishonest and unethical conduct, and your now ruined reputation. You did it to yourself. If you couldn't be honest with your clients and a Judge as well, why should Redondo Beach Residents trust you to represent us and do our business? An unethical and dishonest person like you shouldn't be sitting on the City Council. But you don't sit, you stand as you say. If your back pain is such a problem and you need to walk out for your snack time like a grade schooler during Council meetings when Residents are speaking, maybe you should just stay home.
Better yet, RESIGN.
Jim Light has lied to me, our neighborhood, and the City of Redondo Beach. He's been offered more than once the opportunity to fix the relationship with me and this neighborhood. I've even offered to host a public forum so that he can respond to Residents' questions, problems, and concerns. But he won't do it, he won't even show his face at the 500-600 N Prospect or Beryl Heights neighborhood since he ruined this entire median project and is stonewalling our Public Records Request to get to the bottom of things. His out of control ego won't allow him to admit that he has been wrong and to correct things.
And it's also strange to see the "Mayor" of our City spending so much time on social media, constantly chiming in with his know it all attitude on so many threads that he has no business commenting on, day and night, via his Jim Light Mayor Of Redondo Beach Facebook page. From NASA, to politics and bashing the opposing political party, to attacking certain police response and how ICE should handle enforcement in Minnesota, to artificial turf and harassing a Nor. Cal. business owner. And it goes on and on. Jim the narcissist knows it all, he's never wrong, he never apologizes. This isn't Mayoral conduct at all and where does he find the time? He should be embarrassed. It's embarrassing for the City & to the Residents. Jim hasn't backed us in this neighborhood, he has interfered, he has lied, and he has let us down. He’s another one of Tom Bakaly’s yes men. So again, Jim gets back the respect that he gives. He should apologize, do what's right and work with us to fix things, or RESIGN.
Zein you also seem to have a problem with ZOOM. You don't like Residents and your constituents calling in to Council meetings via ZOOM? Or is it just the people who don't agree with you and stand up to you and Jim? Or is it just me? Was my ZOOM “ tirade” a problem because I don’t agree with you and spoke up against the BCHD Overdevelopment scheme that is right in our faces here at 500-600 N Prospect Ave. and against your man Tom Bakaly? Or was it me asking how to get special permission like Allen Sanford did for his New Years Eve fireworks show? Maybe you just want to limit the available tools in which Residents are able to speak freely on topics that are concerning to them? Since you aren't offering a ZOOM link on your combined District 3 & 4 meeting with Paige and Bakaly this Sat. it must be all of the above.
Why should I join the BCHD Board of Directors? Because you can't or won't do your job? Or is it too hard for you to do your job for Residents and constituents because Tom Bakaly is your Overlord? You don't get to tell me what to do, Residents get to tell YOU what to do.
The problem for us is that you have your own agenda and won’t listen and do what we tell you to do. Your past unethical and dishonest conduct as well as your current visible, outright disdain for Residents who disagree with you and whatever your actual personal agenda is shows us who you really are. You are about yourself, not the Residents.
I've been involved in the car culture since I was 15 years old. I'm proud of my family’ s racing and hot rodding history & legacy in it. Magazine covers and articles about my family, top awards at some of the biggest Hot Rod & Street Rod events on the West Coast for decades. The preservation of Redondo Beach car culture history that happened on Harbor Drive before you were even born. You have no idea what it's all about or my grassroots effort 25 years ago to give this City the longest running, FREE Community, family friendly event and preserve a piece of Redondo Beach history doing it. No millions of dollars of corporate money to float us. Just very hard work, the love of the culture, the history of Harbor Drive, and giving something to the City that I once loved.
I ended what I started 25 years ago on my terms Dec. 13, 2025. Even when the City of Redondo Beach tried to break an agreement with me after the Summer for the remainder of the year and what was agreed on. I fought the City, the City backed down, and I finished what I started and proud to have had a very highly attended 25th Anniversary Season. And if you want to know about back pain, try doing 5 years of saving the shows from extinction with no anchor restaurant to help with labor or to store equipment, tents, tables, set up, tear down, loading and unloading, hosting, and running a show for 9-10 hours, back to back Fridays all Summer and the holiday shows. Around 80 shows in the last 5 years alone. All done at no cost to the City, no cost to visitors or participants, commerce brought to the Marina and Pier, all off of me and my family's commitment, our backs, our labor, and our time. You don’t want to give us any credit, you have no clue, you never even showed your face. You never made any attempt to get to know me, my family, our people or what the whole thing was about and the Redondo Beach roots.
Just like Jim, you now sink to a low point to try and deflect and distract from the fact that you have problems with ethics and honest and lawful business conduct. You can’t or won’t resolve real problems for Residents because you have your own personal agenda. And because I challenge you people and hold your feet to the fire, you try to belittle me, give me no credit, and diminish what I’ve brought to the community. And you think you’re getting to me by throwing something in my face with your dig about the In N Out car show. As if I missed out on something or I am now an outsider. I've been in the culture for a long time Zein. I’ve lived it, done it, made it happen, and seen it all for decades, and much, much bigger shows than In N Out.
This was just a sardonic attempt by you to try and put me down for standing up to you and calling you out. To try and smear my family name, our history, and our contributions to the City of Redondo Beach for decades because you are exposed and embarrassed. Again, it shows the immoral person that you really are. It's hypocritical of you, and it shows your complete lack of leadership and unification skills. On Dec. 13, 2025 I walked away proud of a 25 year achievement and proud of my family legacy. Your snarky comments and disdain will never take that away from me.
We need caring, ethical, and honest people on the Redondo Beach City Council. You are none of those. Please do this City and the Residents a favor. RESIGN.
