A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING TO REBUDGET DEPARTMENTAL CARRYOVER REQUESTS AND CARRY OVER UNEXPENDED BALANCES AS OF JUNE 30,
2025 FOR DONATIONS, GRANTS AND CAPITAL PROJECTS
WHEREAS, the City Charter, Section 17.10, Budget Adherence, provides that the City establish budgetary authority for carryover appropriations; and WHEREAS, the City intends to carry forward to the ensuing fiscal year unexpended balances from donations, grants, and capital improvement projects that were not completed as of June 30, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the carryover of such unexpended balances is necessary to provide for certain departmental carryover requests in the ensuing fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the City will reserve or designate fund balances to accommodate these carryover requests; and
WHEREAS, these carryovers will in effect modify the budget appropriations for Fiscal Year 2025-26.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the amounts requested to be carried over from the prior fiscal year’s budget be re-appropriated to departments/programs/projects in accordance with and set forth in Exhibits A through D, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, as recommended by the City Manager. The total amount requested to be carried over for all funds is $58,296,603.
SECTION 2. That pursuant to Section 11(f) of the City Charter, staff is hereby directed and instructed to correct the budget.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and shall enter the same in the Book of Original Resolutions.
