1 SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT
FOR LEGAL SERVICES BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDONDO BEACH
AND MANNING & KASS, ELLROD, RAMIREZ, TRESTER LLP
This Second Amendment to the Agreement for Legal Services (“Second Amendment”) is made between the City of Redondo Beach, a chartered municipal corporation (“City”) and Manning & Kass, Ellrod, Ramirez, Trester LLP (“Attorney”).
WHEREAS, on April 21, 2015, the parties entered into the Agreement for Legal Services between the City and Attorney (the “Agreement”); and
WHEREAS, on February 6, 2024, the parties entered into a First Amendment to the Agreement to amend the legal name of Attorney and to increase the compensation rates for Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the parties desire to further amend the compensation rates for Attorney.
NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the promises and mutual covenants contained herein, and intending to be legally bound, the parties hereby agree to make the following amendments to the Agreement:
1. SECTION 3.1 Compensation Amount. Section 3.1 of the Agreement is hereby amended to adjust Attorney rates as follows as of May 1, 2026:
Partner rate is increasing to $300 from $275;
Associate rate increasing to $250 from $225;
Paralegal rate increasing to $150 from $135; and
New appellate rate of $320 an hour.
2. No Other Amendments. The Agreement, the First Amendment and this Second Amendment constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede any previous oral or written agreement with respect to the subject matter hereof. In the event of any inconsistency between the terms of the Agreement, the First Amendment and this Second Amendment, the terms of this Second Amendment shall govern.
