Chadwick,
I fully support an appropriate art installation on Artesia Blvd., which recognizes the contributions and history of the LGBTQ+ Community in Redondo Beach. Artesia Blvd. has a long history as a center for the community (can elaborate further if you want to know). All of Redondo Beach has a history as a place of inclusion and tolerance for the LGBTQ+ community which spans back to the 1920’s to the present and has been a safe place for our community to raise our families and thrive.

For the last 7 years I have worked in Redondo Beach in a local community clinic. I grew up in Long Beach and Redondo Beach was the only welcoming South Bay community we would visit as immigrants. Redondo Beach is known as a welcoming community due to its inclusivity. An art installment that embraces LQBTQI is the right move. In this increasing divisive time in our country, we need visible welcoming messages.
It's not a time to be invisible or scared. It's a time to be bold and protective of the most vulnerable community member.
