DECLARING THE FOLLOWING COMMISSION POSITIONS VACANT BASED ON ABSENCE FROM 3 OR MORE MEETINGS SINCE OCTOBER 1, 2025, PER REDONDO BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 2-9.107(7) AND;
AUTHORIZE THE CITY CLERK TO POST NOTICE OF VACANCIES FOR THE BUDGET &
FINANCE, CULTURAL ART, PUBLIC AMENITIES, AND PUBLIC WORKS AND SUSTAINABILITY COMMISSION POSITIONS.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On October 14, 2025, City Council adopted Ordinance 3298-25 effective November 13, 2025 updating our Redondo Beach Municipal Code Section 2-9.107 pertaining to Uniform Regulations of Commissions, Vacancies (a) In the following instances a board member of commissioner’s position shall automatically become vacant and so declared by the City Council if the board member or commissioner…
“(7) Is absent from three regular meetings of such board or commission during any 12 month period of time after October 1, 2025. For the purposes of determining absences, a board or commission member shall not be deemed absent if a meeting is canceled, unless the board or commission member’s absence was the cause of the meeting’s cancelation due to lack of quorum…” Therefore, Commissioners with their ending term date for Budget and Finance Commissioners Rodney Ramcharan (September 30, 2026) and Trent Turner (September 30, 2029); Cultural Art Commissioner Chelsea Lawrence (September 30, 2028); Public Amenities Commissioners Edward Caldwell (September 30, 2028), Jeffery Rowe (September 30, 2026), and Massood K Yousufzai (September 30, 2028); and Public Works and Sustainability Commissioner Jay Tsao (September 30, 2027); Youth Commissioners Baran T (September 30, 2027) and Kaia W (September 30, 2027) positions declared vacant and authorize the City Clerk to Post Notice of Vacancies for the above commissions.
