Subject: Termination of the Agreement for Commission of Artwork for Display in a Public Place between the City of Redondo Beach and Volkan Alkanoglu Dear Mr. Alkanoglu:
The City acknowledges receipt of your June 18, 2026 email advising that you are unable to complete the remaining work required under the Agreement for Commission of Artwork for Display in a Public Place between the City of Redondo Beach and Volkan Alkanoglu, dated December 16, 2025 (the “Agreement”), including but not limited to, fabrication and installation of the artwork.
Because you have advised the City that you are unable to complete your obligations under the Agreement, the City hereby exercises its right to terminate the Agreement pursuant to Section
5.2 of the Agreement, effective as of the date of this letter.
The City also acknowledges your representation that no invoices have been submitted and no payments have been made under the Agreement. Under Article 4, payment is contingent upon satisfaction of the applicable payment conditions, including submission of invoices and completion of the applicable project milestones. Based on your representations and the City’s records, no compensation is due or payable under the Agreement.
The City appreciates the work you performed and wishes you the best in your future endeavors.
