Dear Kelly and Jack,
As discussed over the phone, after considerable reflection, I have concluded that I am unable to continue with the Gate Wave project through fabrication and installation.
While I appreciate the opportunity to work with the City and the Public Art Commission, I believe it is in the best interests of both parties to conclude the engagement at this stage rather than proceed under circumstances where I cannot provide the level of commitment and focus the project deserves.
To date, I have completed the design and the engineering submission phases of the project. No invoices have or will be submitted and no payments have been received under the Agreement or are expected on my end.
Accordingly, I would like to request a mutual termination of the Agreement and an orderly conclusion of the project.
I appreciate the City’s support throughout this process and hope we can bring this matter to an amicable resolution. Please let me know the City’s preferred process for formally documenting the termination.
