The District has an allocation from the State Water Project of 102,600 acre feet (af) per year. The State of California Department of Water Resources sets the allocation based on water available each year. The current year allocation is 5%, which calculates to 5,130 af available this calendar year for Valley District to sell. • The current rates were set in 2003, the base price is $148 per af. If the retailer orders water for delivery in the following year by December 31 and pays by January 31, they will receive a discount off the base price. • For water that is direct delivery to a treatment plant, the discount is 15% which sets the price at $125.80 af. • For water that is groundwater recharge, the discount is 20% which sets the price at $118.40 af. • Investment Earnings
