WHEREAS, the Rialto Certified Farmers’ Market is 10 years old in 2022; and
WHEREAS, the Rialto Certified Farmers ’ Market serves as a way to support small, local farmers sell their goods directly to the public, while contributing to the quality of health to residents; and
WHEREAS, the Rialto Certified Farmers’ Market provides the Rialto community with a healthy food environment where farmers and neighbors come together to learn about agriculture and nutrition; and
WHEREAS, the Rialto Certified Farmers’ Market plays an important role in expanding healthy food access for the residents of Rialto by participating in the Supplemental Assistance Program (SNAP), Senior Farmers Nutrition Program (SFNP), CalFresh (EBT), and Market Match; and
WHEREAS, the economic impact of the Rialto Certified Farmers’ Market includes not only direct benefits to farmers and business owners, but also benefits to the community by providing access to fresh fruits and vegetables and preserving farmland through economic viability; and
WHEREAS, the Rialto Certified Farm ers’ Market is beneficial to our economy, consumer health, and the community of Rialto; and
Now, therefore, I, Deborah Robertson, Mayor of the City of Rialto, along with the City Council, do hereby proclaim July 20, 2022, as
“Rialto Certified Farmers’ Market 10th Anniversary”
in the City of Rialto, and invite the Rialto community to visit the Rialto Certified Farmers’ Market every Wednesday to enjoy and learn about agriculture, nutrition, and other assisting programs from our extended variety of friendly vendors.
