Project Background
Proposed Improvements
The proposed median will restrict
access to the two adjacent
commercial driveways on the south
side of Baseline Road approximately
200 feet east of Riverside Avenue,
providing access to T acos Gavilan
and Big Lots, as shown in Figures 1
– 2.
Access will be maintained for right-in /
right-out access only. The proximity of
these commercial driveways to
Riverside Avenue overlaps with the
westbound left turn lane at Riverside
Avenue and prevented a directional
left turn access opening at this
location.

Proposed Improvements (cont’d)
The proposed median will restrict
access to the commercial driveway
on the north side of Baseline Road
approximately 300 feet east of
Riverside Avenue, located next to the
Walgreens and providing secondary
access to the State Bros Shopping
Center, as shown in Figures 3 – 4.
The proximity of this commercial
driveway to Riverside Avenue
overlaps with the westbound left turn
lane at Riverside Avenue and
conflicted with the two commercial
driveways on the opposite side of the
street, preventing a directional left
turn access opening at this location.
BRIDGE TO PROGRESS DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING
Proposed Improvements (cont’d)
The proposed median will provide a
directional opening in the eastbound
and westbound directions (left turn
access in) at the commercial
driveways located approximately 600
feet east of Riverside Avenue, shown
in Figures 5 – 7, for the main access
to the Stater Bros Shopping Center
(north) and No. 1 Asia Buffet / Big
Lots (south).
Left turn access out of these
driveways will be prohibited by the
directional opening to improve traffic
safety at this midblock driveway.

Proposed Improvements (cont’d)
The proposed median will restrict
access to the two opposing
commercial driveways on the north
and south sides of Baseline Road
approximately 450 feet west of
Sycamore Avenue, providing
secondary access to the State Bros
Shopping Center (north) and second
access to No. 1 Asia Buffet (south),
as shown in Figures 8 – 10.
Access will be maintained for right-in /
right-out access only. The proximity of
these opposing commercial
driveways overlaps with the proposed
westbound left turn lane into the No.
1 Asia Buffet / Big Lots driveway and
prevented a directional left turn
access opening at this location.

Proposed Improvements (cont’d)
The proposed median will extend
without openings between Sycamore
Avenue and Acacia Avenue as there
are no driveways in this segment.
The proposed median will provide a
full opening east of Acacia Avenue to
provide full access to the residential
driveways located on the north side of
Baseline Road, as shown in Figure
