Subject: Notice of REAP 2.0 Prog ram Pause Due to Potential REAP 2.0 Funding Cuts
Dear Thomas Crowley:
As you are likely aware, on January 10, 2024, Governor Newsom introduced his 2024‐25 State Budget Proposal. T he budget proposal contains sev eral cuts to housing programs, including a reversion of $300 million in Regional Early Action Planning Grants 2.0 (REAP 2.0). As a recipient of $246 million in REAP 2.0 funds, this proposed reversion would hav e a s e r i o u s i m p a c t o n S C A G ’ s REAP 2.0 Programs.
While SCAG is taking steps to try and secure these funds, until the budget is finalized, we must prepare for the loss of a large portion of our REAP 2.0 funds.
Consequently, SCAG is suspending its REAP 2.0 programs during t his period of uncertainty.
As an award recipient under one of SCAG’s REAP 2.0 programs, SC AG is providing this written notice to inform you that your project h as been paused and we will not be entering into an agreement to fund it at thi s time. We will provide further updates as more information becomes available r egarding the availability of REAP 2.0 funds.
If you have any questions regarding this issue, please direct a ny questions to [email protected].
Sincerely,
Kome Ajise
