Career Summary
I was employed with the Rialto Police Department as a sworn police officer from March 1997 until May 12, 2018, when I retired honorably as a police captain. I held the position of police captain for over three years. My responsibilities included but were not limited to overseeing the Operations and Support Divisions, creating and reviewing policy and procedures, participating and collaborating in the advancement of department technologies, providing oversight and mentoring of subordinate managers, attending city and community engagements, role of "acting chief" in the chief's absence, handling media and public requests, reviewing internal and external complaints against sworn and civilian staff, authoring and managing department related grants, attending city council meetings, and any duties and responsibilities assigned by the chief of police.
Currently, I am employed by Versaterm as a Solutions Architect / Trainer in the CI-Technologies law enforcement software applications. I have been an employee of Versaterm since January 2024, and prior to Versaterm acquiring CI-Technologies, I was a contract employee with the company since 2012. I work as a trainer and applications expert, training law enforcement agencies across the U.S. in using software applications to collect data, track and report on mandated State and Federal reporting requirements, investigate complaints and policy violations, and address employee and officer wellness through the applications Early Intervention features. I work closely with agencies to provide best practices in law enforcement and industry standards for case management, employee wellness, and data collection, which has required me to stay up-to-date with statutory laws affecting law enforcement across the nation. My experience working with agencies across the U.S., configuring these applications for different State requirements, has given me a unique perspective of our evolving profession.
