A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIALTO, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE GAMETIME/CPRS STATEWIDE FUNDING INITIATIVE GRANT AWARD AND A BUDGET ADJUSTMENT TO ALLOCATE FUNDS FROM THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND BALANCE TO ACCOUNT NO. 33007304-53001 IN THE AMOUNT OF $216,662.80 TO FULLY FUND THE RIALTO CITY PARK INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND PROJECT WHEREAS, the City of Rialto is committed to improving public parks and recreational amenities to better serve its growing and diverse community; and WHEREAS, Rialto City Park is one of the City’s most centrally located and heavily utilized facilities and has been identified as a priority location for the development of an inclusive playground; and WHEREAS, the City Council previously allocated a total of $687,401.48 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and CDBG-CV funds to support the construction of the inclusive playground; and WHEREAS, the City has been awarded a grant through the GameTime/CPRS Statewide Funding Initiative in the amount of $144,250.34, which provides a direct cost reduction to the project; and WHEREAS, the total project cost for the Rialto City Park Inclusive Playground Project is $904,064.28, resulting in a funding gap of $216,662.80; and WHEREAS, staff recommends transferring $216,662.80 from the Capital Projects Fund balance to Account No. 33007304-53001 and allocating these funds to complete the funding needed to complete the project; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize acceptance of the grant funding and the necessary budget adjustment to support the completion of this important community project.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rialto California, does resolve, declare, determine and order as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager or their designee to accept the GameTime/CPRS Statewide Funding Initiative grant award (discount) and appropriate grant funds in the amount of $144,250.34.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby approves and authorizes a budget adjustment to transfer $216,662.80 from the Capital Projects Fund balance to Account No. 33007304-53001, to complete the necessary funding for the Rialto City Park Inclusive Playground Project.
SECTION 3. The City Council authorizes the City Manager or their designee to make all necessary accounting adjustments and execute all related documents required to implement this action.
SECTION 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. //
