A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIALTO, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING ITS 2025-2026 FISCAL BUDGET TO THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS ADMINISTRATION BUILDING RESTORATION PROJECT, CITY PROJECT NO. 220201 WHEREAS, the budget for fiscal year 2025-2026 of the City of Rialto has been adopted by this Council in its original form, and said budget will need to be amended at times to fulfill the goals of the City; and WHEREAS, the City departments may not exceed their appropriations by character of expense, with character of expense being defined as personnel services, services and supplies, capital outlay, debt service and transfers, without the consent of the City Manager; and WHEREAS, the City Manager may transfer appropriations between departments and within their respective funds, as long as those appropriations do not exceed their fund total unless approved by Council.
WHEREAS, on December 14, 2021, the City Council Adopted Resolution No. 7818 amending its budget for the 2021-2022 Fiscal Year budget authorizing an appropriation to the General Fund Liability Fund, Account No. 67302148-52011 for anticipated settlements and expenses related to the fire at the Public Works Administration Building Restoration Project.
WHEREAS, Resolution no. 7818 authorized an appropriation in the General Liability Fund in the amount of $1,150,000 in Account No. 730-500-2148-2011 leaving a balance of $2,100,000 to be appropriated at a later date.
WHEREAS, on January 11, 2022, the City Council Adopted Resolution No. 7826 amending Resolution No. 7818, Section 3 to read in its entirety as follows: “Authorize an appropriation to General Liability Fund, Account No. 730-500-2148-2011 in the amount of $3,250,000 for anticipated settlements and expenses related to the fire at the Public Works building.
WHEREAS, On August 13, 2024, the City Council Adopted Resolution No. 8283, authorizing a transfer out of the General Fund Liability fund balance in the amount of $3,250,000 to the Capital Projects Fund Account 33007302-53001-220201-22 for the Public Works Administration Building Restoration Project, City Project No. 220201.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIALTO DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Authorize an appropriation from the General Fund balance of $800,000 to Account No. 33007302-53001-220201-22 for the Public Works Administration Building Restoration Project, City Project No. 220201.
