A national league player for New York Giants and the San Francisco Giants also Willie Mays played for the Negro League, Birmingham Black Barons, before coming to the Giants Willie Mays has always played a part in helping kids and their community-and Willie always served the city of Richmond Ca.~illie Mays came to Richmond for 10 years for the March of Dimes charitable events at Nichol Park. Other national league players would come and help Willie Mays organize the local little leagues teams.~ayor George Livingston was a witness to the events at Nichol Park. And others citizens of Richmond and some of the little league teams was Melody Ramblers and Milens Jewelers.
