RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND TO CHANGE THE NAME OF BASEBALL DIAMOND #2 AT NICHOLL PARK TO WILLIE MAYS BASEBALL FIELD AND TO PROCLAIM MAY 6TH AS WILLIE MAYS DAY IN THE CITY OF RICHMOND.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richmond, California as follows:
Section 1. It is the intention of the City Council of the City of Richmond to change the name of Baseball Diamond #2 at Nicholl Park to Willie Mays Baseball Field and to proclaim May 6th as Willie Mays Day in the City of Richmond.
Section 2. That Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter, as the matter can be heard and will be held a public hearing via Zoom video conference and by toll-free teleconference call. All persons interested in or objecting to the proposed renaming of said baseball field or proclaiming May 6th as Willie Mays Day may attend the public hearing online or by toll-free teleconference call, or, prior to the time of the hearing, submit written comments.
Section 3. That the City Council staff is hereby instructed to: (1) mail the notice of a hearing to the neighborhood council and current users of the baseball field.
Section 4. That the City Clerk is hereby instructed to: (1) inform lead department to cause to be posted conspicuously at the baseball field a copy of this Resolution; and (2) cause to be printed and published in the West County Times, the notice of the Public Hearing at least ten (10) days before said hearing.
I certify that the foregoing resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City of Richmond at a regular meeting held on February 15, 2022, by the following vote:
