AGENDA
REPORT

DISCUSSION:
On August 26, 2010, Certus Consulting Inc. conducted a structural inspection of the Hilltop Outdoor Advertising Sign. The inspection revealed some significant structural deficiencies and recommended the replacement of the sign relatively soon. The Hilltop Mall developer incorporated the replacement of the sign as part of the new Hilltop Mall development. Unfortunately, after more than 11 years, the development failed to proceed and the sign has deteriorated more causing it to become a major safety concern for the City.
Bids were solicited for removal of the sign from three outdoors advertising sign contractors located in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento as follows:
YESCO (Fairfield) $28,749.00 Arrow Sign Company (Oakland) $36,353.00 Pacific Neon Company (Sacramento) DECLINED
YESCO submitted the lowest bid. Public Works recommends approving the proposed contract with YESCO to expedite removal of the sign due to the existing damaged condition of the sign.
