STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
City staff members are requesting authorization to
contract with DMR Builders for the Shimada Park
Restrooms roof reconstruction at Shimada Park
Richmond Marina.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE a contract with DMR Builders for the
Shimada Park Restrooms roof reconstruction at
Shimada Park Richmond Marina , in an amount not to
exceed $225,000 – Public Works (Joe Leach 620 -
5478).

DISCUSSION:
On February 1, 2022, bids for Shimada Park Restrooms roof reconstruction at Shimada Park Richmond Marina were solicited on BidsOnline. Bidding contractors attended a pre -bid mandatory meeting on -site on February 15, 2022, to fully understand the scope of work involved , and on March 3, 2022, seven bids were received as follows:
1. DMR Builders $207,775.00
2. IBS USA Inc. $211,600.00
3. Alex Kushner General Contractor $256,000.00
4. RK & Associates, Inc. $269,000.00
5. Southwest Construction $281,950.00
6. Angotti & Reilly, Inc. $287,000.00
7. Saboo Inc. $560,000.00
The seven bids were reviewed for bid compliance requirements and DMR Builders was found to be the lowest, most responsive bidder. This request includes the low bid amount plus a $17,225 contingency for unanticipated additional facility damage for a total contract amount of $225,000.
