STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
The Fleet Maintenance Division is requesting City
Council approval to contract with Owen Equipment for
as-needed repairs to Elgin/Vactor brand street sweepers.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE a two-year contract for as-needed
Elgin/Vactor brand street sweeper repairs with Owen
Equipment in a total amount not to exceed $80,000 –
Public Works (Joe Leach 620-5478).
DISCUSSION:
The Fleet Maintenance Division sometimes requires repairs to Elgin/Vactor brand street sweepers that cannot be completed by Fleet Maintenance Staff.
Owen Equipment is the only authorized dealer in Northern California for parts and service repairs for Elgin/Vactor brand equipment. A Sole Source form has been approved by the Finance Department.
