Dear City Council Members, City Attorney David Alshire, and City Manager Shasa Curl, Once again I would like to thank City Council members McLaughlin, Willis, Jimenez, Martinez and Johnson for voting not to sell Point Molate to SunCal. In doing so, you have saved Richmond from a development project that would certainly have drained Richmond's General Fund, and caused taxpayers to pay for the required 24/7 fire station for just 1400 luxury homes.

I also want to thank City Attorney Alshire and City staff for recognizing that this project would negatively affect the City fiscally and recommended against the sale.

I also want to address the constant gaslighting by the Mayor regarding this project. He knows very well he authored the $400 rights to sell Point Molate within five years in his backdoor settlement deal, yet continues to lie about it saying he didn't author it. He created this entire mess, but refuses to take the blame. He chose the developer, SunCal, that has a history of suing cities, flipping properties, and filing for at least 26 bankruptcies.

Tom Butt lies, bullies, attacks his constituents who don't agree with him, and refuses to take responsibility for his own failings. He invited SunCal to sue the City by trying to bait Council Members McLaughlin and Jimenez, asking them publicly what their plans were for Point Molate so that SunCal would have valid reasons to sue the City. I ask, what mayor does this to his own city? The

answer is Mayor Tom Butt does this to his City.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Jeanne Kortz
