RE: Share the Spirit 2021 Additional Funds Grant Award
Dear Abigail,
We are pleased to announce that the Share the Spirit committee has awarded your program additional funding.
This letter contains valuable information about the funds AND upcoming program changes, and we encourage you to review it carefully. Please acknowledge your receipt of this check and your agreement with the terms of this letter by signing and returning the included agreement letter by April 11, 2022.
A check in the amount of $ 4,000 is enclosed with this letter. Please note the following:
1. Please complete and return the agreement letter enclosed per instructions. If your organization also sends an acknowledgement/receipt, acknowledge as a grant from the Share the Spirit program. Acknowledgment letters may be sent to - Share the Spirit, PO Box 3491, Walnut Creek, CA 94598, or emailed to [email protected]. Please do not add Share the Spirit to your donor solicitation lists.
2. Funding from this grant is restricted to use in Alameda and/or Contra Costa Counties.
3. Additional Funds 2021 Report must be submitted by due date; reports must be complete, neat and accurate. Final Report form may be completed online at STS website or printed and submitted via email or post (no postmarks will be accepted) - due June 10th, 2022, by 12 p.m. (noon).
4. If your program includes distribution of gift cards, we require that you keep a detailed internal log with the names of the clients receiving the cards and maintain these records with your agency financial documents (do not need to send the list with final report) for a minimum of three years.
We also want to use this opportunity to communicate a change to the grant schedule for Share the Spirit in the future. For the most part, the calendar will remain the same; we will still take applications in July/August, notify grantees whether they have been selected in September, create the stories in October, and run the stories in November and December, however, Share the Spirit grant funds will be distributed after the full campaign has wrapped in the spring, approximately in March.
We have always valued the quick turnaround from application to funding and wish it could remain; we do understand that this will be a longer wait for funds and hope all potential (2022 and beyond) grantees can adjust. Please do contact me if this change in timing will be a profound concern for your organization.
While this disbursement timing is a change, the program fundamentals are staying the same, and the new schedule allows for some internal modifications that may enable Share the Spirit to make some larger overall grants.
Please watch the website for the 2022 calendar in the coming months. Feel free to contact us at A tr
