● Change Order X TA: DC006 - Scum PS
Original design drawings showed the new scum pump station on top of an existing 54” 3 water line. After field investigation, it was discovered that the existing 54” 3W pipe acts as a reservoir for the 3W pump station; it is critical to plant operation and has no redundancy, requiring Carollo to revisit the design and modify the structure. DC006 illustrates the required structural and mechanical modifications, and the corresponding TA CO covers the additional cost associated with it.
● Change Order X TA: DC007 - RAS Piping
The original design showed the north section of the RAS piping in the east -west corridor between Aeration Basin zones 1A/1B, 2A/2B, and 3A/3B in an existing channel with a concrete deck. In order for the Contractor to install this section of RAS piping, modifications to both the concrete deck and the RAS piping are necessary. DC007 illustrates the required structural and mechanical modifications, and the corresponding TA CO covers the additional cost associated with it.
● Change Order X TA: DC010 - Air piping
APG Neuros, the turbo blower manufacturer, requested Carollo revisit the air piping in the aeration basins as part of the implementation of the Model Predictive Control System, which will result in better dissolved oxygen control and, sub sequently, provide energy savings.
DC010 illustrates the required structural and mechanical modifications, and the corresponding TA CO covers the additional cost associated with it. ● Change Order X TA: DC011 - Handrails
With the new operational configuration of the aeration basins, it will be necessary to install handrails in the walkways of said aeration basins for the safety of the operators. DC011 will illustrate the required modifications, and the corresponding TA CO will cover the additional cost associated with it.
● Change Order X TA: Bid Item 9 - Additionals
Bid item 9 addresses structural repairs in the aeration basins. When the project was bid, the quantities needed for these repairs were unknown, so a unit price was requested and estimated amounts were assumed. Once the basins were drained and examined, act ual amounts of needed repairs were obtained. The corresponding TA CO will cover the additional cost associated with them.
● Change Order X TA: Force account directed work
Shimmick has encountered numerous changed conditions and design changes which were unknown at the time of bid and they anticipate more. In an effort to maintain progress on the project and not stop project work already underway, Veolia has directed Shimmick to resolve changed conditions impacting project work on a Force Account (FA) basis in the past and anticipates doing so in the future. The corresponding TA CO will cover the additional cost associated with them.
● Change Order X TA: Additional ESDC Forecast
Carollo, the engineer of record, has spent certain task line items of the budget related to RFI’s, submittal review, design clarifications, etc. and may have overextended their budget; the designer feels they will need more funding. The corresponding TA CO will cover the additional cost associated with them.
● Change Order X TA: Misc. Unforeseen Conditions
Estimated for the additional unforeseen conditions.
