DISCUSSION:

‘Ookwe Park is a small new park in the Marina District without any identification or signage markers. The Richmond Arts and Culture Commission (RACC) worked in collaboration with stakeholders over the past six months to approve a three-part graphic design package to include: 1) Large Directional Signage, 2) Pedestal Didactic Signage, and 3) Botanical Markers.

The objectives for this project included selecting a local full-service vendor who could fabricate and install the National Park Service Style signs which includes 18” hole rules.

Richmond-based vendor, Thomas Swan Sign Company, is being recommended from three vendors for a sole source contract as they were the only vendor to provide a full- service scope of work to include both the fabrication and installation of the three-part signage package created by graphic designer Cherlyn Oto. Thomas Swan Sign Company will work with graphic designer Cherlyn Oto to address any pre-approved design questions.
