been linked to poor outcomes for people infected with COVID-19. According to a nationwide study from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, people with COVID- 19 who live in U.S. regions with high levels of air pollution are more likely to die from the disease than people who live in less polluted areas.
California has some of the most polluted regions in the country, making it more vital that we protect the health and well-being of our residents, visitors, and workforce through air quality awareness and education and by encouraging environmentally healthier habits.
Everyone can play a role with actions such as not idling vehicles, walking or biking to work and school, carpooling, conserving energy, and taking the California Clean Air Day pledge at www.cleanairday.org – all while wearing face coverings and practicing social distancing.
