RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RICHMOND, CALIFORNIA FOR AUTHORIZATION TO ACCEPT AND
APPROPRIATE THE STATEWIDE PARK DEVELOPMENT AND
COMMUNITY REVITALIZATION PROGRAM FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED $ 8,000,000 FOR THE SHIELDS REID PARK
REVITALIZATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation (“State”) issued a Notice of Funding Availability (“NOFA”) on July 1, 2020 for the Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program (“SPP”) grant funds to benefit low income residents or communities of California; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond, as a municipal corporation and a charter city, applied and was awarded the SPP Program grant for the Shields Reid Park Revitalization project; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond has received and accepted the Agenda Report regarding this Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT, the City Council of the City of Richmond finds the above recitals accurate and have s erved together with the Agenda Report as the basis for the findings and approvals set forth in this Resolution; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, the City of Richmond hereby agrees to use the SPP Program funds for eligible activities in the manner presented in the application as approved by the State and in accordance with Program Regulations.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, The City Council authorizes the City Manager or their designee to execute in the name of the City of Richmond, the Grant Agreement, and all other documents required by the State for participation in the Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program and any amendments thereto and accept and appropriate the grant funds.
