Lease Agreement with the YWCA of Contra Costa
County for Use of Space for a Day Care Program.
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The rental rate for the lease of the space is $2,700 per month. This revenue will be added to the general fund
budget, account number 01251051-362807.

STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
The YWCA of Contra Costa County is currently leasing
space for a day care program at the Richmond
Recreation Complex building. The current lease
agreement has expired. City staff has created a new
lease agreement that will cover a one-year period.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE a lease agreement with YWCA of Contra
Costa County for use of space for a day care program at the Richmond Recreation Complex building located at
3230 Macdonald Avenue, from July 1, 2022, to June 30,
2023, with the rate of $2,700 per month – Library and
Community Services Department (LaShonda

DISCUSSION:
The YWCA of Contra Costa has been leasing space for childcare services at the west wing of the Richmond Recreation Complex located at 3230 Macdonald Avenue. The City of Richmond has negotiated a new lease agreement with the YWCA of Contra Costa to continue providing this service in this space. There is no change in the lease amount in this agreement; however, the lease agreement is being updated to bring the term current. The lease agreement has been reviewed and accepted by both parties and is now being submitted to City Council for their approval. City staff is seeking approval of the lease agreement with YWCA of Contra Costa County from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023, with the rate of $2,700 per month.
