DISCUSSION:

COMMUNITY SERVICES STAFFING AMENDMENT

The Human Resources Department recently conducted a review of the role and responsibilities (desk audit) of the Associate Administrative Analyst in the Community Services – Library Department, Literacy Program (LEAP) division. The desk audit determined that the employee was performing duties outside of the scope of Associate Administrative Analyst and must be reclassified to Senior Administrative Analyst in accordance with the Personnel Rules, Section 4.8 - Promotion Procedure for Re- classified Positions.

The Human Resources Department proposes a revision to the position control for the Community Services – Library Department, Literacy Program (LEAP) division to reallocate the Associate Administrative Analyst to Senior Administrative Analyst.

CITY ATTORNEY’S OFFICE STAFFING AMENDMENT

The City Attorney’s Office currently has a vacant Supervising Office Assistant position.

This position is a general classification and does not meet the current needs of the department. The City Attorney’s Office has expressed a need for a Law Office Supervisor that will manage the day-to-day legal operations for the City Attorney’s Office. Job duties will be including managing the docketing calendar, managing all internal and external litigation correspondence, overseeing, and tracking legal service agreements, manage the legal records requests, requests for information, subpoenas, and legal transactions and supervise staff as required.

The Human Resources Department proposes a revision to the position control for the City Attorney’s Office to reallocate the Supervising Office Assistant to a Law Office Supervisor.

POLICE DEPARTMENT STAFFING AMENDMENT

The Police Department requested a Management Analyst II at the January 17, 2023, City Council meeting. However, City staff recommends that a Senior Administrative Analyst would be better suited to meet the immediate needs of the department and create a promotional pathway for staff.

The Human Resources Department proposes a revision to the position control for the Police Department to reallocate the Management Analyst II to Senior Administrative Analyst.
