Proclamation Recognizing Marinda’s Family Daycare
35th Anniversary Celebration
May 20, 2023
WHEREAS, Marinda’s Family Daycare has been an integral business in the early development of 400 children and families in our community for 35 years; and
WHEREAS, Marinda’s Family Daycare is located at 1053 Campbell Street in Richmond, California; and
WHEREAS, Marinda Elaine Keith has educated every child who has attended her day care with “Hooked on Phonics” in the 1990s, and has since then developed her own curriculum, so that her children are advanced and well prepared for elementary school; and
WHEREAS, Marinda provides care for school age children by dropping them off and picking them up, meeting with teachers to make sure they are on the right track, providing a studious environment for her children to complete assignments, and fun activities such as board games, arcade games, and basketball; and
WHEREAS, Marinda is a firm believer that we can do all things through Christ who strengthen us; she instills in her children that all things are possible and encourages them to talk about what colleges they want to attend, what careers they want to have, and the work it takes to accomplish their goals ; and
WHEREAS, Marinda’s Family Daycare provided care for the children of essential workers throughout the Covid Pandemic, and worked with teachers to ensure that none of her elementary and junior high students fell behind; and
WHEREAS, in 35 years of daycare, Marinda has never missed a day to serve a hot delicious meal to her children; and
WHEREAS, every person who walks into Marinda’s Family Daycare is family; Marinda prays with and encourages families during hard times, celebrates their triumphs, lends a helping hand, and reminds parents and family members that her doors are always open.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Richmond City Council on May 16, 2023, does hereby recognize Ms. Marinda Elaine Keith for her 35 years of service to Richmond residents and congratulates the Marinda Family Daycare.
