DISCUSSION:

Since 2017, the Richmond Parking Program within the Transportation Division has invested in Global Parking Solutions manufactured pay stations to help manage parking supply in City-owned lots. The pay stations require network service, and warranty coverage to maintain the pay stations. The existing contract funds have been expended and will require additional funds to pay outstanding and future related invoices.

The original contract was for an amount not to exceed $8,700, with a term ending May 25, 2022. Per the original contract terms, the City was able to offer two one-year option extensions to extend the term through May 2024. The extensions were for time only and did not increase the contract amount. The vendor agreed with the term extensions.

City staff is seeking City Council approval to increase the existing Global Parking Solutions contract in the amount of $6,000, and to extend the agreement to maintain uninterrupted subscription and warranty services. The new contract amount will not exceed $14,700, and the new contract term will be extended to June 30, 2025.
