A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND TO
ACCEPT AND APPROPRIATE GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA STATE
LIBRARY, ADJUST REVENUE BY $69,602 AND ADJUST EXPENDITURES BY $69,602 IN THE 2023-2024 LIBRARY BUDGET.
WHEREAS, subsequent to the adoption of the 2023-2024 City of Richmond operating budget, the Richmond Public Library was awarded $69,602 from the California State Library; and
WHEREAS, the additional grant funding of $69,602 will enable adult literacy education and literacy activities for Literacy for Every Adult Program (LEAP) English as a Second Language participants; and
WHEREAS, this grant funding will continue ESL services at the Richmond Public Library’s adult literacy service, LEAP;
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Richmond authorizes the City Manager or their designee to execute grant agreements and any other grant-related documents; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Richmond that the 2023-2024 Library Budget is adjusted to add $69,602 to revenue and to add $69,602 to expenditures.
