WHEREAS, each service contract with an approved firm will be for an amount not-to-exceed $500,000 over a three-year period with the option to extend the contracts for up two, one-year periods; and

WHEREAS, the additional two-year extension period is not to exceed $300,000 per vendor; and

WHEREAS, these design firms will provide as-needed services for a variety of projects providing site analysis and investigation, permit coordination, preparation of conceptual and schematic designs, preparation of construction documents for bidding, cost estimating and construction support for libraries, gymnasiums, community centers, senior centers, parks, fire stations and maintenance yards, as well as other yet unspecified Public Works related projects; and

WHEREAS, anticipated services include preparation of environmental documents and permitting; preparation of documents required by funding entities; field reviews and surveys; preparation of exhibits; public presentations; preparation of project plans, specifications and cost estimates; design services during construction; record-keeping; environmental work, and special documentation required for federally funded projects; and additional Public Works tasks related to design services; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Department will manage the contracts;
