STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
JannVenus Espadera Monreal is applying for a vacant
seat on the Richmond Youth Council.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPOINT JannVenus Espadera Monreal to the Richmond
Youth Council with a term expiring on October 1, 2025 – Mayor’s Office (Mayor Eduardo Martinez 510-620-6503).
DISCUSSION:
JannVenus Espadera Monreal's application for a vacant seat on the Richmond Youth Council is driven by her active involvement in her community and school. As a student at Richmond High School, she dedicates her time to volunteering at Saturday food drives and tutoring elementary school students, showcasing her commitment to giving back. Additionally, her leadership skills are evident in her roles as the treasurer of the robotics club and the API (Asian Pacific Islander) club. These experiences not only highlight her dedication to service and education but also her ability to manage responsibilities and work collaboratively, making her a strong candidate for the Richmond Youth Council.
