Provide City Council and members of the public with an
updated status report for traffic calming projects that have been approved and funded.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
DIRECT the Public Works Director and staff to present
on the 18 approved Traffic Calming Projects at the
March 5, 2024, City Council Meeting. The presentation
must include for each project: the project’s current phase and anticipated timeline for project completion – Vice
Mayor Claudia Jimenez (510-620-6565) and
Councilmember Gayle McLaughlin (510-620-6636).
DISCUSSION:
Traffic calming is of the utmost importance to our community. Implementing traffic calming measures can reduce traffic speed, reduce motor-vehicle collisions, and improve safety for all community members. It is vitally important that the City Council and the public are kept up to date on the status of projects that have been approved.
