performance, creative thinking, competent and responsive public service, and loyal, tenured employees, it is essential to create a robust Employee Recognition Program.

Unfortunately, due to budget cuts and constraints, the formal employee recognition program has been suspended since 2017. However, the City is working to reinvigorate the program by introducing recognition tools such as the Rosie-Grams. In addition, an Employee Recognition Event is scheduled for April 18 to acknowledge the efforts of all employees.

Moreover, the City wants to recognize employees who were not acknowledged for their service levels in 2017-2023 by presenting them with lapel pins and certificates. City Council approved an appropriation of $50,000 for Employee recognition programs at mid-year. Since the expenditure for the single purchase of lapel pins is over $10,000, approval for the purchase and transfer of funds is required from the City Council.
