Dear Chief French,
This letter provides your CAL-ID bill for fiscal year 2023/2024 which has been approved by the RAN Board.

The Contra Costa County CAL-ID program was formed in 1987. The Contra Costa County Chief's Association and the local RAN Board agreed that the amount charged to each agency would be based upon that agency's population from the previous calendar year. The source of these figures is the State of California Department of Finance. Populations shift from year to year, even though the estimated increase by the RAN Board is 10%, the amount you pay may be affected by changes in the population distribution of the county.

The total estimated amount to be billed to the cities for fiscal year 2023/2024 is $1,802,125. The RAN Board has chosen to apply the 10% increase to each agency for fiscal year 2023/2024. The population for your city is 114,521 which is 9.90% of the total county population. Based upon this percentage, the estimated total share for Richmond Police Department is $178,353.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please call Elizabeth Crawford, Records & ID Manager at (925) 335-1590.
