STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
The Richmond City Council currently meets every first,
third, and fourth Tuesday of each month unless special
exceptions are indicated within the Charter, Council
Rules and Procedures, or approved by the City Council.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE the cancellation of the July 16 and 23, 2024,
Regular City Council meetings and APPROVE the early
start of the Richmond City Council recess to begin
Tuesday, July 16, 2024; Council will reconvene regular
meetings on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 - City Clerk’s
Office (Pamela Christian 510-620-6513).
DISCUSSION:
The Richmond City Council has regularly scheduled meetings every first, third, and fourth Tuesday of every month unless exceptions are indicated within the Charter, Council Rules and Procedures, or approved by the City Council.

With approval of this item, the regular meetings scheduled for Tuesday, July 16 and 23, 2024, will be cancelled, and the Richmond City Council will begin recess Tuesday, July 16, 2024, and will reconvene Tuesday, September 10, 2024. Council Rules and Procedures state that “Any future regular or special meeting may be canceled by a vote of a majority of the members of the City Council during a regular or special meeting.”
