STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
Yeymi Perez is applying for a vacant seat on the
Richmond Arts and Culture Commission. Yeymi would be
filling a term that was formerly vacated; thus, she would be filling an unexpired term.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPOINT Yeymi Perez Richmond to the Richmond Arts
and Culture Commission, Term Expires June 19, 2025 –
Mayor’s Office (Mayor Eduardo Martinez 510-620-6503).
DISCUSSION:
Yeymi Perez is applying for a position on the Richmond Arts and Culture Commission, bringing a strong background in community organization and a passion for art's role in enhancing community safety and well-being. As a marketer, educator, and grant writer, she blends art with education to engage the local community. With degrees in Sociology and Criminology from Sonoma State University, where she also advocated for student representation through art, Yeymi aims to use her experience and insight to contribute meaningfully to Richmond's cultural initiatives.
