STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
City staff is seeking to increase funding on the contract with Wadsworth Glass, Inc., for and additional $50,000.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE a second contract amendment with
Wadsworth Glass, Inc., increasing the amount by
$50,000, for a new total contract amount not to exceed
$150,000, to supply windows, materials, and services for City buildings – Public Works Department (Daniel
Chavarria 620-5478/Carl Capistrano 620-6896).
DISCUSSION:
The Public Works Department maintains and operates over 50 buildings, often requiring repairs to windows and doors in City Buildings. However, due to the wide variety of AGENDA

glazing products and an increase in vandalism, maintaining an adequate inventory of all necessary products is not feasible. In addition, specialized knowledge or equipment is sometimes required to complete certain repairs, necessitating assistance from a qualified service provider.
The initial contract with Wadsworth Glass, Inc., for $100,000 was approved by the City Council on July 21, 2020, covering the term from July 1, 2020, through June 30, 2023. A first contract amendment, executed in June 2023, extended the term through June 30, 2025.
City staff members are now seeking to amend the contract with Wadsworth Glass, Inc., to increase the capacity by $50,000, resulting in a total contract amount not to exceed $150,000. This amendment will ensure the continued supply of window materials and facilitate necessary repairs to windows and doors as needed.
