AGENDA
REPORT
May 28, 2024
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Richmond Rainbow Pride, an organization promoting LGBTQI+ awareness, inclusivity, and celebration within Richmond, demonstrating their commitment to equality and acceptance.
Despite progress, the LGBTQI+ community continues to face discrimination and inequity. The City of Richmond is committed to protecting our LGBTQI+ residents and their families, ensuring they enjoy the same rights, privileges, and opportunities as all residents. We call upon residents, businesses, and community organizations to recognize and affirm the rights and dignity of LGBTQI+ individuals, promote awareness and understanding, and stand against discrimination and violence.
We celebrate the resilience, strength, and activism of the LGBTQI+ community, remember their ongoing struggle for equality, and commit to fostering an inclusive community that respects and values all its members.
