AGENDA

DISCUSSION:
The Streets Division must buy trailer-mounted thermoplastic equipment to improve the work completed by the Signs & Lines staff members. This new equipment will allow Public Works staff to use dual paint colors simultaneously and complete work faster.
Currently, there isn’t a manufacturer of thermoplastic equipment within the City of Richmond.
This purchase complies with the City of Richmond Municipal Code Section 2.52.320, Piggyback procurement, which allows for a “piggyback” purchase using another agency’s purchase contract if it is in the best interest of the City of Richmond.
Based on pricing as reflected in the City of San Jose’s Purchase Order 82915, it is in the City of Richmond's best interest to purchase thermoplastic equipment from Dispensing Technologies Corporation for an amount not to exceed $124,000. The Finance Department approved a piggyback justification form.
