Dear Mr. Munoj:

Mack5 has been providing Project & Construction Management services on the Shields‐Reid Park Improvements project.

Project Background

City of Richmond received $8 million funding from State of California through the Prop. 68 grant to renovate the existing Shields‐Reid Park. The redesigned park will include children’s play area, bike pump track, stage, public art, basketball courts, exercise area, community area, landscaping and parking.

City is in the process
of awarding the construction contract to Azul Works, Inc.

The bike pump track construction is being done by American Ramp Company under a design build procurement. Currently it is tentative scheduled to start in July 2024.

Additional Fee Request

Our fee and scope were for providing construction management services for the construction of the park to be performed by the general contractor. Now with the bike pump track construction being done during the construction of the park, we are also providing construction management services for this scope and the total construction duration has increased to 15 months from 12 months in our proposal.

We are requesting additional fee of $78,300 for the 3 months for bike pump track construction management.

Thank you again for the opportunity to provide our services.  Please let us know if the City has any questions
about this request.

Sincerely,

CONTRACTOR hereby grants to CITY, on behalf of any insurer providing Commercial General Liability insurance to either CONTRACTOR or CITY with respect to the services of CONSULTANT herein, a waiver of any right to subrogation which any such insurer of said CONTRACTOR may acquire against the CITY by virtue of the payment of any loss under such insurance.

Original, signed certificates and original, separate policy endorsements, naming the City as an additional insured for general liability, as well as a waiver of subrogation for Workers’ Compensation insurance, shall be received and approved by the City before any work may begin.
