The project focuses on the Macdonald Avenue, Barrett Avenue, and San Pablo Avenue undercrossingsunder crossings on Interstate 80, as well as and the Harbor Way overcrossing on Route 580. These locations currently suffer from inadequate lighting, which affects pedestrian safety and experience. The addition of lighting will brighten the pedestrian experience, while the artwork will enliven the space, adding color and reducing graffiti by providing less blank canvas for taggers. This project is funded through the Clean California funds and must be completed by December 31, 2024.
