DISCUSSION:
Council Member Bana has extended an invitation to the Fire Chief to present at a City Council meeting regarding the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP), with the aim of enhancing public awareness about its recommendations. Recent events, including the local 5-acre fire at Blum Drive and Richmond Parkway, and the ongoing 15,000-acre fire near Tracy, underscore the critical need for such public education initiatives.
If the City Council approves the request for a presentation, the Fire Department will return to the City Council to present the CWPP at the September 24, 2024, City Council Meeting unless otherwise notified.
