STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
The City Council’s authorization is required to establish salary ranges for classifications by amending the salary schedule.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
ADOPT a resolution amending the salary schedule to
retitle Electrical Supervisor to Chief Electrician – Human Resources Department (Sharrone Taylor/Nickie Mastay

DISCUSSION:
City staff desires to amend the salary schedule to retitle Electrical Supervisor to Chief Electrician.
Chief Electrician
The Human Resources (HR) Department has been working with the Public Works Director to ensure the job descriptions and titles accurately reflect the work that is being done. The Electrician Supervisor is being retitled to Chief Electrician to better denote the scope of responsibility that this position has. This is a working supervisor position, AGENDA

and the incumbent is expected to work in the field and have the ability to impart knowledge, adequate training, and provide leadership to the electrician unit. This classification is represented by IFPTE Local 21- Mid Management. The Personnel Board approved the change in the classification title on September 26, 2024.
NEXT STEPS:
City staff recommends the approval of the resolution to amend the salary schedule.
Accordingly, the attached resolution will amend the salary schedule for the retitle in the following manner:
